Hot-rolled structural steel is designated in accordance with the AISC or British Standard BS 5950.
Built-up frames and other welded members are designated in accordance with the AISC.

All welding confirm to the requirements of the American Welding Society AWS D1.1.
Hot rolled sections are fabricated from material having a minimum yield strength of 345
N/mm2 (50ksi) conforming to ASTM A-572 or minimum yield stress of 275 N/mm2
conforming to EN10025 S275.
Built up sections are fabricated from material having a minimum yield strength of 354
N/mm2 (50ksi) conforming to ASTM A-572 Grade 50.

Pre-engineered steel structures
STEELO buildings provide a more cost effective solution than concrete for medium-rise and high-rise buildings having a grid of over 11m. The construction costs associated with a structural steel building having 16 storeys or more and a grid size of 15.2m x 7.6m are typically 20 percent cheaper than those built in concrete. The construction periods associated with steel buildings are typically 25 percent shorter than similar buildings constructed with a concrete frames. Owing to the smaller size of our steel columns STEELO buildings are able to provide a significant amount of extra usable or carpet area. STEELO buildings offer greater flexibility for future modifications, extensions and change of use. Due to the inherent flexibility of steel as well as our design capabilities we are able to develop aesthetically pleasing buildings with longer spans, interesting shapes and cantilevers without a disproportionate cost impact. Construction of a building with a steel frame is inherently safer than constructing a building with a concrete frame. Due to the reduced floor to floor storey height in STEELO buildings we are able to reduce the overall height of a building. Typically STEELO buildings require 70 percent less concrete in foundations like footings, pedestals etc.
